Blinded by the luster of the “new”, the existence of the
“first” becomes irrelevant to us. We've lost sight of
the fact that many cultures of the developing world are connected to
traditions of technological innovation that are thousands of years
old. Here's a meditation on the connection between being deemed
irrelevant and being encouraged to become invisible.
Biography
Xavier Leonard is a composer, multi-media artist, and head of Heads
On Fire, an organization teaching multimedia tools to disenfranchised
people in turbulent political environments, such as homeless youth and
California women prisoners.
